ANÁLISIS ESTADÍSTICO ACERCA DE LA INCIDENCIA DE AMIGDALITIS EN LOS PACIENTES ATENDIDOS EN EL HUG ENTRE LOS AÑOS 2008 Y 2013

Resumen
El presente estudio se trata de un análisis estadístico de la información
registrada en la base de datos del sistema de gestión hospitalaria
administrado por el Hospital Universitario regentada, hasta el año 2014,
por la Universidad de Guayaquil. Este estudio analiza la incidencia de la
amigdalitis en la población atendida en el hospital desde el año 2008
hasta el 2013. El objetivo del estudio es identificar los patrones de
comportamiento de la afectación de la enfermedad en la población
guayaquileña, según los datos que han sido registrados con el pasar del
tiempo en el sistema informático de la entidad. Para este análisis se ha
utilizado herramientas tecnológicas de inteligencia de negocios, las cuales
permiten obtener información pertinente en cuanto a eventos o patrones
que, a primera vista sin la utilización de estas herramientas informáticas
no son identificables. El principal resultado obtenido en la investigación es
la alta incidencia de la enfermedad en niños de 1 a 6 años. Este
segmento de la población, atendido en el hospital universitario, representa
el 56.10% del total de pacientes afectados. Esta afectación en los
primeros años de vida se debe a que los niños se van exponiendo poco a
poco a nuevos virus existentes. Esta información servirá a los
administradores de la salud pública para realizar campañas de
concienciación, de capacitación, de prevención para proteger a la
población ante el peligro de esta enfermedad. Se puede utilizar esta
investigación como modelo para la replicación de la misma en otras
instituciones de atención médica, principalmente del sector público.
The present study is a statistical analysis of the information recorded in the database of the hospital management system administered by the University Hospital run, until the year 2014, by the University of Guayaquil. This study examines the impact of tonsillitis in the population cared for in the hospital from 2008 until 2013. The objective of the study is to identify the patterns of behavior of the involvement of the disease in the population from Guayaquil, according to data that have been recorded with the passing of time on the computer system of the entity. This analysis has been used technological tools of business intelligence, which allow to obtain relevant information regarding events or patterns that are not identifiable at sight without the use of these tools. The main result obtained in the investigation is the high incidence of the disease in children 1 to 6 years. This segment of the population, attended at the University hospital, represents the 56.10% of the total number of affected patients. This involvement in the first years of life is that children are slowly exposing to existing viruses. This information will serve as administrators of public health to carry out awareness campaigns, training, prevention to protect the population to the danger of this disease. You can use this research as a model for replication of the same in other institutions of medical care, mainly in the public sector.
