La leptospirosis en pacientes ingresados en el Hospital Dr. Verdi Cevallos Balda en el período de mayo del 2014 a marzo del 2015

Resumen
La presente investigación se lo realizó en el Hospital Verdi Cevallos Balda de Portoviejo, en el área de consulta externa, donde se identificaron las características generales de la población en estudio, en la cual existen más hombres infectados que mujeres, la mayoría comprendido entre 31 a > más de 51 años que provienen de ciudades de Portoviejo, Chone Manta y Rocafuerte, donde la mayoría son agricultores. Se identificó la prevalencia de leptospirosis humana estuvo dado en pacientes sintomáticos positivos y clínicamente positivos con valores correspondientes en el rango entre el 38,7% y el 36,29%. Mientras que los asintomáticos positivos presentaron el 25%,. El porcentaje de adherencia de la población en estudio para esta entidad hospitalaria fie del 62,12% lo hace en relación a muestras enviadas por un centro de salud. En tanto que el 7,74% los hace por envión de una entidad hospitalaria de la provincia. Así mismo el 8,87% y 7,25% por requerimiento de un médico particular y por el Instituto Nacional de Higiene, donde se observó que la comunidad sigue renuente a la educación en salud a pesar de los esfuerzos y la convocatoria realizada por los investigadores y personal de salud.
