Resumen
El consentimiento informado en el Ecuador hace referencia al hecho de comunicar al paciente a tratar de forma muy explícita y entendible sobre paso a paso los procedimientos a seguir en cualquier tratamiento odontológico que se vaya a realizar. Evitamos así procesos legales que nos asechen o que pongan en peligro nuestra carrera como profesionales, es por esto de suma importancia el implementar el consentimiento Informado ya que no solo es un derecho para nosotros sino también un deber que tenemos nosotros como proveedores de la salud con la persona a la cual le estamos brindando nuestros servicios, y es un deber cívico ya que al momento de ser profesionales hacemos un juramento en el cual decidimos poner el bienestar y la salud del paciente siempre primero y ante cualquier circunstancia. El objetivo analizar la importancia del Consentimiento Informado en Odontología en el Ecuador. Metodología aplicada: no experimental, bibliográfico y descriptivo. Se aplicó una encuesta a 30 alumnos de Quinto año de la Facultad Piloto de Odontología y según los resultados obtenidos del total de 30 (100%) alumnos encuestados, 15 (50%) no tienen conocimiento sobre esto y el 15 (50%) tiene un conocimiento un poco leve del tema. Como conclusiones: existe poco conocimiento acerca de este documento y sobre la importancia que deberíamos de darle, implementándolo así en las clínicas de la Facultad Piloto de Odontología y tratándolo de manera más a fondo en la materia de Odontología Legal para así irnos formando en este tema y estar precavidos a la hora de la práctica privada.

Informed consent in Ecuador refers to the fact of informing the patient to be treated in a very explicit and understandable way on step by step procedures to follow in any dental treatment that is to be performed. Thus we avoid legal process asechen us or threaten our race as a professional, which is why important the implementation of informed consent as it is not only a right for us but also a duty that we have as providers of health the person to whom we are providing our services, and as a civic duty to be professional when we make an oath in which decided to put the welfare and health of the patient always first and foremost any circumstances. The objective is to analyze the importance of informed consent in dentistry in Ecuador. Methodology applied: non-experimental, descriptive literature. a survey of 30 students of fifth year of the Pilot School of Dentistry and according to the results of all 30 (100%) students surveyed, 15 (50%) do not know about this and 15 (50%) was applied has a somewhat slight knowledge of the subject. In conclusion: there is little knowledge about this document and the importance that we should give, and implementing it in clinics Pilot School of Dentistry and treating so further in the field of Legal Keywords: Informed Consent, Practice, Health, Law, Dental.
