Resumen
Esta investigación presenta como objetivo, caracterizar el proceso de desgaste profesional de los médicos del Hospital Regional del IESS “Teodoro Maldonado Carbo” y sugerir acciones para su prevención. En consecuencia, se realizó un estudio descriptivo cuantitativo de la prevalencia del síndrome de desgaste profesional en el personal médico de diversas especialidades que laboran en el referido nosocomio. De un total de 213 médicos que prestan servicios en esa institución, participaron 129 médicos, lo que representa un 60,5%. De ellos eran mujeres 51, para un 39,5% y varones 78, para un 60,5%. Los participantes respondieron voluntariamente el Cuestionario de Desgaste Profesional para Médicos (CDPM) de B. Moreno (2006). Este instrumento valora los Antecedentes del desgaste, el Síndrome de desgaste con sus tres componentes: cansancio emocional, distanciamiento e ineficacia; las consecuencias del desgaste y sus factores moderadores. Además, añade un cuestionario de síntomas de estrés. Los resultados más relevantes muestran que un tercio de los médicos declaró padecer de alguna enfermedad crónica, más de la mitad manifestaron que el trabajo afectaba su salud, respecto al desgaste profesional se manifiesta de carácter leve y que no ha lesionado de modo severo los valores profesionales.
This investigation has as its objective to characterize the process of professional burnout of doctors from the regional hospital Theodore Maldonado Carbo, belonging to the Ecuadorian Institute of Social Security (EISS), as well as the suggestion of preventing actions to avoid it. In consequence it was carried out a quantitative descriptive study of the presence of the syndrome of professional burnout on doctors of different medical specialization who work in the nosocomial. From a total of 213 doctors who provides their medical service in the institution, it participated 129 ones, which represents 60, 5 %, among them 59 women, being a representation of the 39, 5% and 78 men representing the rest 60, 5%. The participants answered voluntarily the questionnaire of professional burnout for doctors, from B. Moreno (2006). This instrument valuates the antecedents of the burnout, the burnout syndrome with its three components: emotional tiredness, distancing and inefficacy, the consequences of the burnout and its moderator factors. Besides it adds a questionnaire of stress synthon. The most relevant results show that the third part of doctors declared to suffer from a chronical disease, half of them manifested that the job affected their health, in regard with the burnout it manifested in slight way, and it hasn´t injured severely the professional values.
