This Study case presents a proposal for the improvement in the managing of operations within the process of discharging of containers in sensitive areas such as the Galapagos Islands. It covers analysis of market situation, quantity of transported cargo, cargo distribution, establishing of the current containers discharge process, issues that affect cargo, comparative analysis with the available empirical referent and the proposal of a possible solution. In this context the model suggests the implementation of port infrastructure in charge vessels owners in order to complete the logistic chain of sea transportation to the Galapagos Islands, through the purchase of a self propelled barge of 500 Tons capacity and a Land Crane of 25 Tons (minimum). Results will manifest in the reduction of operative charges to be beared by vessels owners as well as the reduction of claims of cargo damages or losses from clients.
