Resumen
La operadora CNT (Corporación Nacional de Telecomunicaciones) ofrece el servicio de TV pagada a nivel nacional mediante el sistema DTH (Direct To Home), el cual utiliza la tecnología de trasmisión satelital de señales. El sistema existente tiene la desventaja de la afectación imprevisible del correcto funcionamiento, puesto que puede verse influido por las condiciones meteorológicas. Por ejemplo en días muy nublados la calidad de señal disminuye considerablemente. Esto genera la inestabilidad de la señal dando molestias a los clientes.
Las empresas de telecomunicaciones actualizan sus redes de acceso, en el presente trabajo se cuenta con una red de acceso en fibra óptica denominada GPON, la cual permite el manejo de anchos de banda considerables los cuales soportan los tres servicios como la telefonía, internet y TV; también es posible cargar nuevos servicios.
Se contempla incluir un nuevo servicio en la red convergente como es el servicio de televisión pagada con una plataforma IPTV. Se planteó una nueva alternativa para la mejora de la calidad de servicio, por lo que se implementó el servicio de IPTV sobre la red GPON desplegada por la operadora. Para esto se realizó un proceso de cambio de tecnología de plataforma tecnológica de los clientes existentes, quienes pasaran de tener un servicio TV pagada por trasmisión satelital al servicio de IPTV.
La implementación y cambio de tecnología del nuevo servicio de IPTV genera fidelización de los clientes existentes y el producto será más atractivo para captar mayor cantidad de clientes.

For example on very cloudy days the signal quality decreases considerably. This generates signal instability causing discomfort to customers. The telecommunications companies update their access networks, in the present work there is an access network in optical fiber called GPON, which allows the management of considerable bandwidth which supports the three services such as telephony, internet and TV ; It is also possible to load new services. It is contemplated to include a new service in the converged network as is the television service paid with an IPTV platform. A new alternative was proposed to improve the quality of service, so the IPTV service was implemented on the GPON network deployed by the operator. For this, a process was carried out to change the technological platform technology of the existing customers, who will have a paid TV service through satellite transmission to the IPTV service.
