Resumen
La finalidad principal es presentar la primera etapa de un Plan Maestro de Ciclovía
Sostenible para los habitantes del Cantón Eloy Alfaro-Durán, para fomentar el uso de vehículos
no motorizados como las bicicletas, especialmente para desarrollar actividades diarias sobre todo
a corta distancia e impulsar en la ciudadanía a tener una vida más saludable, concientizar el
cuidado del medio ambiente e incrementar espacios recreativos para la población.
La movilidad sostenible se generó, en los últimos años, por el uso exhaustivo
principalmente del transporte urbano privado en las grandes ciudades creando una alteración al
medio ambiente por el excesivo consumo de combustibles fósiles y de recursos o energías no
renovables, siendo el responsable de la contaminación ambiental, congestión vehicular, entre
otros.
Al aplicar esta primera etapa del Plan Maestro de Ciclovía Sostenible se podría observar
que los habitantes del Cantón Eloy Alfaro-Durán tendrían un avance en el ordenamiento vial en
su cabecera cantonal, reducción de accidentes de tránsito, disminución de la contaminación
ambiental, y la generación de un espacio seguro para las familias y que al mismo tiempo
ayudaría a incrementar el área del turismo que conllevaría a la creación de fuentes de trabajo
para el sector, logrando un cambio de desarrollo y mejoría para sus habitantes.
The end result is to present the First Stage of a Master Sustainable Cycling Infrastructure Plan for the people of Canton Eloy Alfaro-Duran to promote the use of non-motorized vehicles like bicycles, especially to develop short distance activities and encourage the people to a healthier lifestyle, while generating awareness of care for the environment and increase recreational spaces for the area. In the last few years, sustainable mobility was born out of the misuse of the private urban transportation in the big cities which lead to an alteration to the environment due to the excessive consumption of fossil fuels and resources i.e.; renewable energy, being responsible for the air pollution, noise, traffic congestion, high accident rates and high risk for pedestrians and cyclists as well. In applying this First Stage of a Master Sustainable Cycling Infrastructure Plan it will show that the people of Canton Eloy Alfaro-Duran will recognize progress and better road system in its cantonal head, reducing environment pollution, a space for improved health and a recreational place, safe for families and at the same time help increase the area of tourism. This of course will lead to the creation of jobs for the sector, achieving an improvement for their habitants and their development.
