Resumen
Este trabajo investigativo fue desarrollado en base al problema que existe actualmente ya que existen pacientes de todas las edades que han sufrido traumas en los maxilares, que han provocado fractura de los mismos, disfunción y estética para lo cual necesita profesionales Odontólogos que estén preparados y sepan sobre la utilización de los tratamientos correspondientes y los diferentes medios de fijación, para brindarles la atención requerida sin ocasionar traumas mayores. Por lo que tuvo como objetivo principal determinar el tratamiento de las fracturas mandibulares a través de los medios de fijación. Para lo cual se han aplicado los métodos inductivo – deductivo, y ha sido diseñado de manera no experimental, con un tipo de investigación bibliográfico, de observación, descriptiva y documental, para alcanzar los objetivos propuestos. Se presenta el caso de un paciente que sufrio una trauma en los maxilares, por lo que se le fracturo la mandibula, y se le realiza una cirugía con la técnica de fijacion rigida. En lo que se concluyó que los continuos avances en el área de la biomedicina y con el desarrollo de materiales altamente biocompatibles como el Titanio, los medios de fijacion por medio de placas y tornillos, como lo es la fijacion rigida ya que es el mas utilizado, y es un método de elección sobre otros, como el uso de alambre de acero y el bloqueo maxilo-mandibular para el tratamiento de las fracturas faciales así como en la corrección de deformidades dentó-faciales y en reconstrucciones óseas, ya que se logra una fijación y estabilización idónea de los segmentos óseos y la rehabilitación prematura del paciente.
This research work was developed based on the problem that currently exists because there are patients of all ages who have suffered trauma to the jaws, which have caused fracture thereof, dysfunction and aesthetics for which need professional dentists who are prepared and know on the use of appropriate treatments and different fastening means, to provide them the required attention without causing further trauma. From what I had as main objective to determine the treatment of mandibular fractures through the fixing means. For which methods have been applied inductive - deductive, and has been designed non-experimental way, with a kind of bibliographic research, observational, descriptive and documentary, to achieve the proposed goals. the case of a patient who suffered a trauma to the jaws, so he fractured jaw is presented, and he performs surgery with rigid fixation technique. As it was concluded that continued advances in biomedicine and the development of highly biocompatible materials such as titanium, the means of fixation by plates and screws, as is the rigid fixation because it is the most used , and is a method of choice over other, as the use of steel wire and maxillo-mandibular block for treatment of facial fractures and in correcting dentofacial deformities and bone reconstruction, since it achieves a suitable fixation and stabilization of bone segments and premature rehabilitation.
