In the present work the distribution and abundance of the meroplankton and its relation with the thermal conditions in the coast of the province of Esmeraldas during October 2014 and January 2015 The samples were washed previously to extract the formaldehyde, the whole sample was taken for the counting and identification of the organisms, also the number of organisms per 100 m3 of filtered water was calculated. A total of 100 samples were obtained, observing and counting several zooplankton groups, where it was possible to identify taxonomically larvae and eggs belonging to 3 Phyllum, 2 Classes (1 Infraclase), 6 Orders, 44 Families, 1 Gender and 2 Species. The structure of the zooplankton community in the province of Esmeraldas was represented by decapod larvae of the Penaeidae family, decapod zoeas of the Xanthidae family and fish eggs of the Engraulidae, Synodontidae and Clupeidae families. The stations with the greatest specific wealth within the study area were: Mompiche, Muisne and Quingue for October 2014, Rio Verde, Quingue and Lizard for January 2015. The average monthly temperature showed significant differences (w = <0.05) for the time of the year (October 2014 and January 2015), but not by zones, between the stations of the north zone and those located in the lower part of the province of Esmeraldas, Temperature differences that together with the waves and the tides, would be of some form or other influencing the distribution of the main meroplankton groups within the sampling stations.
