Metástasis de procesos patológicos de la región maxilofacial, analizados en pacientes del Hospital de SOLCA de la ciudad de Guayaquil, en el periodo 2010 - 2014.

Resumen
En el presente trabajo se realizo el estudio estadístico de la incidencia de
la metástasis maxilar en los pacientes atendidos en el Hospital de SOLCA
de Guayaquil el Instituto Oncológico Nacional Dr. Juan Tanca Marengo,
entre los años 2010 y 2014 para conocer qué tipo de neoplasia invade
con mayor frecuencia los maxilares, el objetivo del presente estudio fue
determinar la metástasis de procesos patológicos de la región
maxilofacial en pacientes del Hospital de Solca de la ciudad de Guayaquil,
entre los años 2010 a 2014, la población de estudio se compuso de 512
pacientes que fueron atendidos en el Juan Tanca Marengo de Guayaquil
que presentaron tumoraciones de neoplasicas en los maxilares, la
muestra se conformo de 307 pacientes que presentaron únicamente
tumoración metastasica en los maxilares, los cuales fueron atendidos por
la presencia de tumoración maligna en un sitio distinto a los maxilares, se
encontró que el 2010 se atendieron 79 pacientes 32 hombres y 47
mujeres, en el 2011 se atendieron 62 pacientes 31 hombres y 31 mujeres,
en el 2012 se atendieron a 50 pacientes 20 hombres y 30 mujeres, en el
2013 se atendieron 62 pacientes 27 hombre y 35 mujeres, en el 2014 se
atendieron a 54 pacientes 28 hombres y 26 mujeres, se concluye que se
presentaron más comúnmente las metástasis es a partir de los 40 años y
se vuelve mucho más frecuente a partir de los 60 años, principalmente
derivado de tumores supraclaviculares, los pacientes en su mayoría
fueron tratados por quimioterapia y radioterapia, el índice de mortalidad
ha disminuido siendo que en el 2011 hubieron 14 decesos, mientras que
al año 2014 solo se reportaron 8 decesos.
