77,5% (31) a mujeres.
Patients presenting with removable partial dentures are more common in developing gingivitis (periodontal disease) due to its poor design and poor adaptation in the oral cavity. These factors bring results in the accumulation of plaque and gingival inflammation. This research work was to establish the prevalence of gingivitis in a group of 40 patients using removable partial denture, attended in 2015, the Health Center 15 MSP. The ages ranged between 25 and 75 years (averaging 47.45 years), in relation to sex the sample was composed por22,5% (9) men and 77.5% (31) women. As for the Bacterial Plaque Index, 8% for code 0, 82% to 10% code 1 to code 2 and code 3 no results were obtained. Regarding the presence of 40% gingivitis it was obtained without the presence of gingivitis, and 60% had gingivitis. Analyzing the results by gender found that women had the lowest degree of prevalence (52%) of gingivitis with removable partial dentures compared with men who obtained the highest degree of prevalence of gingivitis (78%) Based on the results, we can agree that the prevalence of gingivitis in patients with removable partial denture is greater in males, so this result is not significant. Based on experience, also it affects the incorrect design of the prosthesis, thus maladaptive of them. We can conclude that prevention in oral health is important for the control of gingivitis in patients with removable partial denture.
