Análisis de la producción de banano en Hacienda San Rafael para mejorar su productividad.

Resumen
El conjunto de haciendas “San Rafael”, se dedica a la producción y comercialización de banano convencional “Williams” en la provincia de los Ríos cantón Vinces, actualmente producen y comercializan un promedio de 471.744 cajas de banano al año, dicha cantidad de cajas suele disminuir, ocasionando así un aumento en el costo de producción, es por este motivo que el presente trabajo de estudio centra su atención en localizar el problema, o, los problemas que no permiten tener una producción estandarizada. Por medio de la herramienta “la cadena de valor”, se evidenciaron diversos problemas internos en cuanto al control de la producción, y se determinó que las haciendas producen un banano de calidad, que cumple con las normas de las buenas prácticas agrícolas, sin embargo, se encontró una oportunidad de mejorar una actividad del área de campo “apuntalar las matas de banano”, y así disminuir el costo de producción. En el conjunto de haciendas “San Rafael” se utilizan dos cañas para apuntalar una mata de banano desde el momento que pare un racimo hasta que se cosecha el mismo, con este material el costo unitario promedio al año de una caja de banano es de 3,51 dólares, dejando un margen promedio de utilidad de 2,23 dólares por caja, la mejora que se presenta con el actual trabajo de investigación es “apuntalar las matas de banano” con suncho con el cual el costo unitario por caja de banano es de 2,94 dólares dejando un margen promedio de utilidad de 2,79 dólares. Al finalizar esta investigación se determinó que después de un año de producir un promedio de 471.744 cajas de banano utilizando el nuevo material suncho para apuntalar las matas de banano el conjunto de haciendas “San Rafael” obtendría un ahorro de 267.333 dólares.
The plantation group "San Rafael" is dedicated to the production and marketing of conventional "Williams" banana in the province of Los Ríos canton Vinces, currently producing and marketing an average of 471,744 boxes of banana per year, that quantity of boxes occacionally decreases, thus causing an increase in the cost of production, for this reasons that the present study focuses its attention on locating the problem, or, problems that do not allow having a standardized production. Through the tool "the value chain" several internal problems were evidenced regarding the control of production, and it was determined that the plantation produce a quality of bananas that complies with the norms of good agricultural practices, however, it was found an opportunity to improve an activity in the field area of "prop up the banana plants" and thus reduce the cost of production. In the plantation complex "San Rafael", two canes are used to prop up a banana tree from the moment a bunch is born, until it is harvested, with this material the average unit cost per year of a banana box is of $ 3.51, leaving an average profit margin of $ 2.23 per box, the improvement that is presented with the current research is "propping the banana bushes" with suncho, with which the unit cost per box of banana is $ 2.94, leaving an average profit margin of $ 2.79. At the end of this investigation, it was determined that after a year of producing an average of 471,744 boxes of bananas, using the new suncho material to prop up the banana bushes, the "San Rafael" plantation group would obtain a saving of $ 267,333.
