The objective of this work is to reduce production costs of an assembly line by applying an analysis of the current condition. Within the analysis it was possible to determine the products that generate the most economic impact to the company by applying statistical methods such as the Pareto diagram to determine the 80/20 of the products it manufactures. Thus, having carried out this analysis, we proceed to collect the information by observing times of all operations relating them to takt time, in order to determine the stations with the greatest savings opportunities for the company. As a result of the observation of times it was obtained that 12% of the resource is destined to make the packagíng, an activity that is necessary for the care of the product but without added value. In this study it can be demonstrated that the company has the opportunity to increase 5% in the productivity of the line reducing labor, saving 8% of the current cost in materials and eliminating the red stations of the line which represents 7% and is located in the packaging area. Continuous improvement is one of the characteristics that successful companies achieve and with the implementation of this improvement that requires investment of ($ 39,780.00) that according to the analysis performed between the savings in direct labor ($ 1,264.94) per month and savings in cost of materials ($ 8,913.60) per month, and with the flexibility of being able to increase the production per hour obtaining a monthly benefit of $ 39,712.00 the payback period turnsout to be of 1 month which justifies this improvement.
