Diabetes mellitus y su vinculacion con la enfermedad periodontal

Abstract

La salud bucal es muy importante para todas la personas ya que las enfermedades periodontales están desde que el hombre se alimenta y este a su vez no tiene una correcta higiene, en este trabajo veremos la relación de la enfermedad periodontal en pacientes con diabetes mellitus, ya que dichos pacientes si no están tratados correctamente de su enfermedad son muy riesgosos al momento de hacer un tratamiento odontológico. Con este trabajo esperamos establecer el tratamiento ideal en pacientes diabéticos con enfermedad periodontal si que haya riesgo que comprometa la salud del paciente y la del odontólogo. La diabetes mellitus es una enfermedad que se caracteriza fundamentalmente por una insuficiencia absoluta o relativa de la secreción de insulina y por una insensibilidad o resistencia de los tejidos al efecto metabólico de la insulina. La hiperglucemia es la consecuencia inevitable de este déficit de secreción y acción de la insulina. La enfermedad periodontal es infecciosa porque en ella se encuentran muchas bacterias las cuales proliferan rápidamente destruyendo todas las estructuras de soporte del diente incluyendo el hueso. e inflamatoria porque hay congestión de vasos sanguíneos, cambio de color en las encías a un rojo brillante. Con la debida información y estudios encontrados lo que esperamos es tener un mejor conocimiento por parte de los profesionales y de los pacientes para poder tratar idóneamente a pacientes diabéticos con enfermedad periodontal.

Oral health is very important for all people and that periodontal diseases are since man is fed and this in turn does not have good hygiene , in this paper we will see the relationship of periodontal disease in patients with diabetes mellitus, and that such patients if not properly treated their disease are very risky at the time of dental treatment . With this work we hope to establish the ideal treatment in diabetic patients with periodontal disease if there is a risk that jeopardizes the health of the patient and the dentist. Diabetes mellitus is a disease that is mainly characterized by an absolute or relative deficiency of insulin secretion and insensitivity or resistance of the tissues to the metabolic effect of insulin . Hyperglycemia is the inevitable consequence of this lack of secretion and insulin action . Periodontal disease is infectious because in it are many bacteria which proliferate rapidly destroying all the structures supporting the teeth , including the bone. and inflammatory because there is congestion of blood vessels, change of color in a bright red gums . With proper information and studies found what we hope is a better understanding by professionals and patients to suitably treat diabetic patients with periodontal disease.
