(Universidad de Guayaquil. Facultad de Filosofía, Letras y Ciencias de la Educación, 2024-02) Andrade Mendoza , Katherine Solange; Rivera Muñoz , Dennisse Xiomara; Bermudes, Luis
This research project faces the problematic lack of listening comprehension in A.1.1 level students and how the English language is difficult for them because of the inexistence of a proper English environment and how new technology can be used to improve it. This project aims to introduce and analyze the influence of podcasts as a new tool for studying the English language because this audio content may focus on real context and daily life situations, which allows students to get used to phonetics. Podcasts are now very popular among new generations and can be used to reinforce extrinsic and intrinsic motivation in students to develop the English language. These authentic materials may be used to explore different topics and to promote independent learners. This research also proposes a booklet based on the “Ministry of Ecuadorian Education” content and vocabulary, to use as a guide to complement the listening process with pre-listening, during-listening, and post-listening activities for A.1.1 level students to improve the understanding, decoding of message and increase the level of students’ performance.

Strategic uses of didactic activities to develop writing skills of A2.1 level students
(Universidad de Guayaquil. Facultad de Filosofía, Letras y Ciencias de la Educación, 2024-02) Navas Haz, Britney Stephanie; Pizarro Velastegui, Jaime Roberto
This educational project proposes how to improve the development of writing skills of tenth-grade students of the María Luisa de Sotomayor Educational Unit using strategic didactic activities. During the development of the project, it was found that the most difficult skill is writing; therefore, the average level of the students is below the level indicated in the National Curriculum (A2.1). Difficulties in transmitting ideas, lack of motivation, and deficiency of knowledge of the subject from previous years aggravate the problem. To solve this problem, we propose the creation of a didactic digital booklet so that teachers can use different activities to encourage the active practice of writing skills.
