High blood pressure (HBP) is the most frequent of the conditions that affect the health of adults in all parts of the world. The shortage of symptoms that it produces in its initial stages, together with the damage of the majority of the organs and systems of the organism, have given him the qualification of "enemy or silent killer". In older adults (65 years), the risk of suffering from this disease increases despite the fact that hypertension was considered at the time as part of normal aging, that is why older adults should have great care with the disease described since they are more likely to have heart attacks and so take them to death Hypertension, is one of the main causes of morbidity and mortality in our country and throughout the world, is the main risk factor for the development of pathologies such as chronic renal failure, cerebrovascular accidents, and acute myocardial infarction. This study carried out in the Guasmo Sur Hospital from January 2016 to January 2017, whose objective is to determine the complications of hypertension in older adults. To this end, the clinical history of all hypertensive patients seen during this period was used. Hypertensive patients are older than 65 years
