The bar code is a sequence of numbers (represented by vertical bars of different thickness) that have been commonly used for inventory systems or others with similar characteristics due to their ability to relate a numerical code to a specific product / object. The QR code (Quick Response or Rapid Response Code) is an evolution of the aforementioned barcode and has as its main advantage the ability to store much more information, such as texts, web addresses, data sheets, among many other contents, so which is being widely used in different aspects such as advertising, marketing, sales, among others. The present project of titulación takes advantage of the use increasingly frequent of the QR codes and developed a prototype in web environment that allows the users, through the reading of a QR code, to accede to the information contained in a web site, whose url address is contained by the code, which will provide information to the user about the tourist attraction of the city of Guayaquil that at that time is visiting. Through the mentioned consultation, the visitor will be able to know aspects of the tourist attraction as for example the character that represents, the history, address and other related information. The QR code generated by each site registered in the system must be displayed in a visible place of tourist attraction so that visitors can "read" the code, through a mobile application, and access the aforementioned information. The main beneficiaries of the project will be the visitors of Guayaquil who, through the web application, will be able to easily access the history and evolution of the Guayaquil canton as well as the city to improve the tourist promotion of the city.
