Resumen
En la siguiente investigación se realizó un muestreo en varios recintos del Cantón Yaguachi Provincia del Guayas con la finalidad de determinar la prevalencia de hepatozoon spp en canes de este Cantón antes mencionado
Las garrapatas se encuentran entre los vectores más importantes de enfermedades infecciosas a nivel mundial aquellas que afectan a animales de compañía debido a su estrecha relación con el hombre. La hepatozonosis es considerada una de las enfermedades transmitidas por garrapatas.
En el presente estudio se determinó la prevalencia de Hepatozoon spp en caninos de 5 Recintos del Cantón Yaguachi, encontrando los siguientes resultados. En los 2 meses de estudio se muestrearon 200 muestras de animales donde se obtuvieron 4 casos positivos (2%) y 196 casos negativos con un (98%).
En este estudio se tomó en consideración edad raza sexo infestación por garrapatas y habitad de los animales donde se pudo verificar que personas que viven en zonas rurales tienen poco conocimiento sobre las enfermedades que pueden causar las garrapatas.In the following investigation a sampling was carried out in several precincts of the Canton Yaguachi Provincia del Guayas in order to determine the prevalence of hepatozoon spp in dogs of this Canton mentioned above
Ticks are among the most important vectors of infectious diseases worldwide those that affect pets because of their close relationship with man. Hepatozoonosis is considered one of the diseases transmitted by ticks.
In the present study, the prevalence of Hepatozoon spp. was determined in canines from 5 Yaguachi Cantón Reserves, finding the following results. In the 2 months of the study, 200 animal samples were sampled where 4 positive cases (2%) and 196 cases were obtained. negative with (98%).
In this study, age, race, sex, infestation by ticks and habitat of the animals were taken into consideration, where it could be verified that people living in rural areas have little knowledge about the diseases that can be caused by ticks
