Estudio de la obesidad y sus factores asociados en pacientes pediátricos

Resumen
Se realizó un estudio prospectivo – descriptivo sobre de la obesidad y sus factores asociados en pacientes pediátricos en el Área de Consulta Externa del Hospital de Niños Roberto Gilbert Elizalde de la ciudad de Guayaquil durante el periodo Julio a Octubre del 2004. Para el desarrollo de esta investigación se escogió al Hospital de Niños Roberto Gilbert Elizalde por ser una institución a la que acuden un importante número de pacientes al día y que además es una de las pocas en la ciudad que trata de concientizar al niño y la familia sobre la obesidad infantil y lo que es más importante estimularlos a someterse a tratamientos además de controles de salud rutinarios. Al concluir este trabajo se demuestra que las causas genéticas, psicológicas ambientales y socioeconómicas son factores asociados a la obesidad en pacientes pediátricos. Las mismas que de la mano con el nivel cultural de la familia de los pacientes, la falta de importancia sobre la enfermedad y la constancia en el tratamiento una vez detectada contribuyen a incrementar el número de casos. Se analizaron 120 pacientes con problemas de obesidad y se determinó una prevalencia del 18.89% de obesos, considerándose ésta una cifra elevada para nuestra casuística.
He/she was carried out a prospective study - descriptive on of the obesity and their associate factors in patient pediatric in the Area of External consultation of the Hospital of Children Roberto Gilbert Elizalde of the city of Guayaquil during the period Julio to October of the 2004. For the development of this investigation it was chosen to the Hospital of Children Roberto Gilbert Elizalde to be an institution to which you/they go an important one I number of patient a day and that it is also one of the few ones in the city that tries to inform to the boy and the family on the infantile obesity and what is more important to stimulate them to undergo treatments besides routine controls of health. When concluding this work it is demonstrated that the environmental and socioeconomic genetic, psychological causes are factors associated to the obesity in patient pediatric. The same ones that of I suckle her with the cultural level of the family of the patients, the lack of importance about the illness and the perseverance in the treatment once detected they contribute to increase the I number of cases. 120 patients were analyzed with problems of obesity and a prevalencia of 18.89% was determined of obese, being considered this a high figure for our casuistry.
