Resumen
Las manos de los equipos de las instituciones sanitarias forman la causa primordial de trasmisión de microorganismos; por esta razón, la higiene de manos es una de las formas de prevención más efectiva y sencilla de usar para prevenir las Infecciones Asociadas a la Atención de la Salud (IAAS), por lo cual influyó en el desarrollo de la presente investigación cuyo objetivo es Identificar la aplicación de los cinco momentos de higiene de manos en el personal de enfermería de Medicina Interna Hospital General del Norte Junio – Agosto 2018, aplicando una metodología de estudio descriptivo y de campo con enfoque cuantitativo, para la recolección de datos se realizó como instrumento una encuesta dirigida al personal de enfermería cuya muestra son las licenciadas y auxiliares. Donde se concluye que existe un conocimiento favorable del personal de enfermería relacionado a los cinco momentos de higiene de manos; excepto del personal auxiliar en lo referente a la problemática lo cual influye negativamente en la seguridad del paciente; debido a esto se recomienda realizar un seguimiento continuo a través de capacitaciones y la guía de observación directa de esta manera evitar que el personal de enfermería se conviertan en potenciales portadores de gérmenes y por consiguiente transmisores de microorganismos altamente infecciosos
The hands of the teams of the health institutions are the primary cause of the transmission of microorganisms; For this reason, hand hygiene is one of the most effective and easy to use prevention methods to prevent Infections Associated with Health Care (IAAS), for which it influenced the development of the present investigation whose objective is to identify the application of the five moments of hand hygiene in the nursing staff of Internal Medicine General Hospital of the North June - August 2018, applying a descriptive and field study methodology with a quantitative approach, for data collection was performed as an instrument a survey directed to the nursing personnel whose sample is the licensed and auxiliary. Where it is concluded that there is a favorable knowledge of the nursing staff related to the five moments of hand hygiene; except for auxiliary personnel in relation to the problem, which negatively affects patient safety; Due to this, it is recommended to carry out a continuous follow-up through training and the direct observation guide in this way to prevent the nursing staff from becoming potential carriers of germs and therefore transmitters of highly infectious microorganisms.
