For this purpose, a type of exploratory and descriptive research has been proposed due to the fact that surveys and collection of bibliographic data were carried out, mainly focused on the granting of consumer loans and microcredits. In the analysis of the secondary source, a negative tendency was observed in the issuance of credits starting in 2014, taking into consideration the beginning of the economic recession due to the fall in the price of Ecuadorian crude. In the primary source analysis, it was determined that for respondents there is a 23% degree of difficulty in complying with the requirements that financial institutions request, which granted the most credits in Ecuador. Finally, we conclude that private financial institutions covered 75% of the microcredit financing registered in the period 2013 - 2017 and 99% for consumer loans, in addition, the institutions that tend to grant a loan for consumption or microcredit, is Banco Pichincha, Solidario and Guayaquil.
