Resumen
La agricultura en Ecuador es una de las actividades principales que son de gran ayuda en las zonas rurales del país. El presente trabajo de investigación se centra en el objetivo de conocer y analizar el proceso que interviene en la producción y comercialización de arroz en el cantón Simón Bolívar, de tal forma que se detalle cada uno de los costos que incurre en el pequeño agricultor de esta zona y determinar factores en este entorno que afecte, el nivel de vida de esta localidad. Para esto, se determinó un tipo de investigación descriptiva, con un enfoque mixto, es decir cualitativa y cuantitativa, por medio de las entrevistas y recolección de fuentes secundarias. Como resultado de la investigación se descubrió que no existe un apoyo gubernamental eficiente en esa zona; resulta más favorable que el agricultor le venda el arroz en cáscara cuando no tiene algún otro compromiso o destino que comprometa su producción, puesto que, en este eslabón, culmina su intervención y la piladora se encargará de comercializarlo; el mayor rubro de los costos de producción para el agricultor incurre en el alquiler de la maquinaria y la compra de los insumos agrícolas. Finalmente, entre los factores que inciden en el nivel de vida de los habitantes de Simón Bolívar, son el clima, precios de fertilizantes y mayores restricciones en la aprobación de un financiamiento para la producción de la temporada.
Agriculture in Ecuador is one of the main activities that are of great help in rural areas of the country. In this research work focuses on the objective of knowing and analyzing the process involved in the production and marketing of rice in the Simón Bolívar canton, in such a way that each of the costs incurred by the small farmer in this area and determine factors in this environment that affect the standard of living of this locality. For this, a type of descriptive research was determined, with a mixed approach, ie qualitative and quantitative through interviews and collection of secondary sources. As a result of the investigation it was discovered that there is no efficient governmental support in that area; it is more favorable for the farmer to sell the rice in shell when he does not have any other commitment or destiny that compromises his production, since, in this link, his intervention ends and the piler will be in charge of marketing it; the largest item of production costs for the farmer, incurs the rental of machinery and the purchase of agricultural inputs. Finally, among the factors that affect the standard of living of the inhabitants of Simón Bolívar, are climate, fertilizer prices and greater restrictions in the approval of a financing for the production of the season.
