Frecuencia de pacientes rehabilitados con coronas de cerámica.

Resumen
Las coronas de cerámicas se utilizan en la odontología para elaborar dientes artificiales, pues la cerámica es el material que mejor reproduce las propiedades ópticas del esmalte y de la dentina, con el propósito de reemplazar dientes perdidos, fracturados, con discromía y más causas que día a día llegan a una consulta odontológica. El objetivo de este presente trabajo fue establecer la frecuencia de pacientes rehabilitados con coronas de cerámicas en la clínica integral del adulto y adulto mayor del ciclo I periodo 2018-2019 de la Facultad Piloto de Odontología en la Universidad de Guayaquil. El tipo de estudio fue observacional, descriptiva y transversal, de campo. La muestra de estudio estuvo comprendida por la recopilación de 120 carpetas de diagnóstico y sus respectivas historias clínicas de Prótesis Fija. Los resultados que se obtuvieron en este estudio establecieron que el material utilizado más frecuente es el metal cerámica con un 55%, siendo la causa principal la fractura con un 36%, el género femenino fue el más rehabilitado con 58%, el rango de edad que presentó un rehabilitación con coronas fue 41-55 años con un 42% y la arcada más afectada fue la superior con un 94%. En conclusión, este estudio estableció que el material más utilizado frecuentemente es el metal cerámica, la cual se presentó más en la arcada superior, siendo en pacientes de género femenino en rango de edades de 41 – 55 años los que asistieron a la clínica integral para rehabilitarse coronas de cerámicas.
Ceramic crowns are used in dentistry to produce artificial teeth, because ceramics is the material that best reproduces the optical properties of enamel and dentin, with the purpose of replacing lost teeth, fractured teeth, with dyschromia and more causes that every day come to a dental practice. The objective of this work was to establish the frequency of patients rehabilitated with ceramic crowns in the integral clinic of the adult and older adult of the cycle I period 2018-2019 of the Pilot Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Guayaquil. The type of study was observational, descriptive and transversal, field. The study sample was comprised by the compilation of 120 diagnostic folders and their respective clinical histories of Fixed Prosthesis. The results obtained in this study established that the most frequent material used is metal ceramics with 55%, being the main cause the fracture with 36%, the female gender was the most rehabilitated with 58%, the age range that presented a rehabilitation with crowns was 41-55 years with 42% and the most affected arch was the superior with 94%. In conclusion, this study established that the most frequently used material is metal ceramics, which presented more in the upper arch, being in female patients in the age range of 41 - 55 years those who attended the comprehensive clinic to rehabilitate ceramic crowns.
