Aparatología ortopédica preventiva en el tratamiento de pacientes con mordida abierta anterior en etapa de dentición mixta.

Resumen
La mordida abierta anterior es una maloclusión que corresponde a la ausencia localizada de la oclusión caracterizada por un desarrollo vertical insuficiente del maxilar y mandibular del sector anterior, se clasifica como esquelética o dentaria. Se debe corregir lo más pronto posible, ofreciendo una terapéutica sencilla y un pronóstico favorable, como es la aparatología ortopédica preventiva, que son dispositivos funcionales intrabucales removibles que utilizan fuerzas musculares para efectuar cambios dentarios y óseo. El objetivo de la presente investigación es determinar las ventajas y desventajas de la aparatología ortopédica preventiva en el tratamiento de pacientes con mordida abierta anterior en etapa de dentición mixta La metodología que se utilizó en la presente información es Investigación – Acción, su Diseño es cuantitativo, Tipo No experimental, Método analítico y la técnica fue elaborar encuestas dirigidas a especialistas en Ortodoncia de la Facultad piloto de Odontologia de la Universidad de Guayaquil con la finalidad de realizar una estadística acerca de la aparatología ortopédica. Dando como conclusión que el tratamiento para la mordida abierta anterior dependerá del diagnóstico que se da a establecer, debido a que hay muchas alternativas para poder tratarla, una de ellas es el uso de aparatología ortopédica preventiva que para algunos especialistas son consideradas como el mejor tratamiento en pacientes con dentición mixta ya que brinda resultados efectivos, se disminuye tiempo con el paciente en el sillón, y a la vez hay una mejor higiene ya que la mayor parte de estos aparatos son removibles y al momento de elaborarlos son más fáciles.
The previous open bite is a malocclusion that corresponds to the localized absence of the occlusion characterized by an insufficient vertical development of the maxilla and mandible of the previous sector, classified as skeletal or dental. It should be corrected as soon as possible, offering simple therapy and a favorable prognosis, such as preventive orthopedic appliances, which are removable intra-buccal functional devices that use muscular forces to effect dental and bone changes. The objective of this research is to determine the advantages and disadvantages of preventive orthopedic appliances in the treatment of patients with open previous bite in the mixed dentition stage. The methodology used in the present work is Research - Action, its Design is quantitative, Type Non-experimental, Analytical method and technique was to develop surveys aimed at specialists in Orthodontics of the pilot School of Dentistry of the University of Guayaquil in order to perform a statistic about orthopedic appliances. Giving as conclusion that the treatment for the previous open bite will depend on the diagnosis that is given to establish, because there are many alternatives to be able to treat it, one of them is the use of orthopedic preventive equipment that for some specialists are considered as the best treatment In patients with mixed dentition since it provides effective results, time is reduced with the patient in the chair, and at the same time there is better hygiene since most of these devices are removable and at the time of elaboration they are easier.
