Resumen
La obesidad es un problema de salud pública cada vez más importante que además
de los problemas tanto orgánicos como psicológicos que causa la obesidad en sí misma,
ésta aumenta el riesgo de sufrir enfermedades crónicas a una edad temprana.
Por lo que el objetivo es determinar la obesidad y malos hábitos alimenticios en los
niños de 8 a 10 años de la Escuela Fiscal Básica Sociedad Italiana Garibaldi en la etapa
Mayo a Junio 2017. De los cuales al realizar el estudio antropométrico se trabajó con
126 niños de los cuales 34 niños con obesidad infantil en percentil mayor a 95 y mayor
a 97.
De los resultados obtenidos se evidencio que el 29.41% consume gaseosas
acompañada a sus comidas y el 11.76% consumen jugos envasados, en cuanto al
consumo de golosinas el 26.47% es de 3 a 4 veces a la semana, el 17,65% figura que su
consumo es de 5 a 7 veces a la semana. Por lo que podemos concluir que el niño obeso
habitualmente viene de un núcleo familiar obeso, por lo tanto, nunca debe atenderse al
niño de manera aislada, sino considerando a la familia, y que ellos acompañen el
proceso.
La propuesta educativa fue elaborada a partir del diagnóstico de su estado nutricional
después de detectar los niños y niñas con obesidad además de los malos hábitos
alimenticios que se puedan relacionar con este trastorno metabólico, por lo que se
dirigió talleres a los padres para orientarlos sobre el problema.

The educational proposal was elaborated from the diagnosis of nutritional status after spotting the children with obesity and unhealthy eating habits that can be related with this metabolic disorder, so it turned workshops to parents to guide them about the problem.
