Resumen
El descuido de monumentos patrimoniales importantes, como lo es la antigua cárcel municipal de Guayaquil, la cual es un hito histórico que genera identidad a la población, pero debido a desacuerdos administrativos la edificación ha quedado abandonada, y a través del tiempo ha creado problemas en su estructura y sus acabados. De allí del planteamiento del tema, que tiene como principal prioridad comprender el concepto de rehabilitación, conservación y revitalización de monumentos patrimoniales, para mantener así el legado histórico, cultural y patrimonial, una de las formas de lograr potencializar este monumento histórico es la creación o adaptación de diferentes funciones a los espacios ya existentes, tratando principalmente de fomentar la cultura e historia del sector y la ciudad, por lo cual se busca investigar y entender las verdaderas necesidades de sus pobladores para que el uso tenga éxito y se logre que las personas se apropien del lugar para el cuidado y conservación de esta.
The neglect of important heritage monuments, such as the old municipal prison of Guayaquil, which is a historic landmark that generates identity to the population, but due to administrative disagreements the building has been abandoned, and over time has created problems in its structure and its finishes. Hence the approach of the subject, which has as a main priority to understand the concept of rehabilitation, conservation and revitalization of heritage monuments, to maintain the historical, cultural and heritage legacy, one of the ways to achieve this historic monument is to create adaptation of different functions to the existing spaces, mainly trying to promote the culture and history of the sector and the city, so it seeks to investigate and understand the true needs of its inhabitants so that the use is successful and that people are achieved appropriate the place for the care and conservation of it.
