Afecciones psicosociales y autoestima relacionada a la deficiente estética dental en adolescentes de 14 a 18 años de edad en el colegio Rita Lecumberri de Guayaquil

Resumen
La estética dental ha sido de gran importancia en la sociedad desde la antigüedad. Cuando un pueblo tiene mala estética dental, afecta su vida social y emocional; pueden aislarse de la sociedad y comportarse de manera introvertida; tienen comportamientos que denotan su inseguridad cuando intentan interactuar con otros. Tienen baja autoestima, lo que a menudo los lleva a buscar una solución a su problema. El objetivo de este estudio es analizar de acuerdo con los resultados de PIDAQ y la prueba de autoestima de Rosenberg si existe una relación entre la mala estética dental con la autoestima de las personas. Se realizó un estudio en una muestra de 175 estudiantes de 14 a 18 años de la Escuela Rita Lecumberri de la ciudad de Guayaquil en 2019, previa autorización de los representantes de los estudiantes, se les entregó el Cuestionario de Impacto Psicosocial de estética dental y pruebe la autoestima de Rosenberg para analizar cómo perciben su estética dental y si existe una relación con su autoestima. Los resultados sugieren que existe una relación directa entre los resultados de la Prueba de autoestima de Rosenberg y los resultados del PIDAQ, teniendo en cuenta que el 100% de la muestra presentó una condición estética dental.
Dental aesthetics has been of great importance in society since ancient times. When a people have bad dental aesthetics, it affects their social and emotional life; they can become isolated from society and behave in an introverted way; they have behaviors that denote their insecurity when trying to interact with others. They have low self-esteem, which often drives them to seek a solution to their problem. The objective of this study is to analyze according to the results of PIDAQ and Rosenberg's self-esteem test if there is a relationship between poor dental aesthetics with people's self-esteem. A study was carried out on a sample of 175 students from 14 to 18 years of age of the Rita Lecumberri School of the city of Guayaquil in 2019, prior authorization of the students’ representatives, they were given the Psychosocial Impact Questionnaire of dental aesthetics and test Rosenberg Self-Esteem to analyze how they perceive their dental aesthetics and if there is a relationship with their self-esteem. Findings suggest that there is a direct relationship between the results of the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Test and the results of the PIDAQ, taking into account that 100% of the sample presented a dental aesthetic condition.
