Resumen
Esta investigación mantuvo el objetivo principal de analizar el sector agrícola y su contribución al desarrollo del Cantón Pedro Carbo durante el periodo 2012-2018. Partiendo de la premisa de que esta actividad es de suma importancia para el contexto social y económico de la población. De esta forma, se partió de una metodología cuantitativa con alcances de tipo descriptivo y explicativo, que demarcó la recolección de información al respecto de diversos indicadores inherentes a la incidencia de este sector productivo en los agregados económico del cantón. El diseño longitudinal permitió analizar el comportamiento de las variables y covariables durante el periodo delimitado, pudiendo conocer las causas detrás de la fluctuación de los índices de la producción, empleo, tributación y comercio. Entre los principales resultados alcanzados se corroboró que la agricultura es la principal fuente de renta en el cantón, concentrando a la mayor parte de la masa laboral. This research maintained the main objective of analyzing the agricultural sector and its contribution to the development of the Pedro Carbo canton during the 2012-2018 period. Starting from the premise that this activity is of utmost importance for the social and economic context of the population. In this way, it was based on a quantitative methodology with descriptive and explanatory scope, which demarcated the collection of information regarding various indicators inherent to the incidence of this productive sector in the economic aggregates of the canton. The longitudinal design allowed analyzing the behavior of the variables and covariates during the defined period, being able to know the causes behind the fluctuation of the indexes of production, employment, taxation and trade. Among the main results achieved, it was confirmed that agriculture is the main source of income in the canton, concentrating most of the labor force.
