Resumen
Esta investigación, realiza una cronología de los acontecimientos diplomáticos y sus instrumentos históricos desde 1830 a 2012. La investigación sobre la Diplomacia Ecuatoriana y su Relevancia Histórica en las Relaciones Internacionales, reseña los hechos más notables y trascendentes suscritos con países de la Región y de otros continentes, siempre enmarcados en los intereses mutuos y estricta aplicación al derecho internacional, contribuyendo a garantizar y mejorar la política exterior.
El trabajo se ha estructurado en dos partes, la primera parte se fundamenta en los instrumentos históricos firmados desde 1830 a 1953. La segunda parte hace referencia al periodo comprendido entre 1954 y 2012, describiendo el perfil del diplomático y destacando la figura relevante de los estadistas: Vicente Rocafuerte, Gral. Eloy Alfaro Delgado y Galo Plaza Lasso, Rodrigo Borja Cevallos, por ser los personajes más importantes del proceso de revitalización y representación internacional de la República del Ecuador y los representantes diplomáticos más destacados y nombrados Hijos de la Patria, el Dr. Antonio Parra Velasco y Dr. Jorge Villacrés Moscoso.
Se han incluido algunas consideraciones en cuanto a la Convención del Mar y los Conflictos limítrofes y territoriales con el vecino del Sur, la República del Perú. Destacando la decisión unilateral del Arquitecto Sixto Durán Ballén, aceptando y ratificando la validez el írrito Protocolo de Río de Janeiro de 1942.
This research, carried out a chronology of diplomatic events and their historical from 1830 to 2012 instruments, research on the Ecuadorian diplomacy and its international relations historical relevance, the most notable acts signed with countries of the Region and other continents, always framed in mutual interests and strict adherence to international law, contributing to improve the foreign policy review. The work is structured in two parts, the first part is based on historical instruments signed from 1830 to 1953. The second part refers to the period between 1954 and 2012, describing the profile of the diplomat and highlighting relevant figure of statesmen; Vicente Rocafuerte, Gral. Eloy Alfaro Delgado and Galo Plaza Lasso, Rodrigo Borja Cevallos, for being the most important characters in the process of revitalization and international representation of the Republic of Ecuador and diplomatic representatives most prominent and named children of the fatherland Dr. Antonio Parra Velasco and Dr. Jorge Villacrés Moscoso. We have included some considerations in terms of the Convention of the sea and border and territorial disputes with the neighbor to the South, the Republic of Peru. Emphasizing the unilateral decision of the architect Sixto Durán Ballen, accepting and ratifying the validity the irritated Janeiro Rio Protocol of 1942.
