Prevalencia de biotipo periodontal en estudiantes de sexto semestre de la Facultad Piloto de Odontología

Resumen
El presente trabajo investigativo se basó en la especialidad de periodoncia, el estudio busca como objetivo principal determinar la prevalencia del biotipo periodontal en los estudiantes de sexto semestre de la Facultad Piloto de Odontología de la Universidad de Guayaquil, para el presente estudio se hizo uso de la técnica más práctica que es la transparencia mediante sonda periodontal altamente reproducible basada en la observación clínica del periodonto. La investigación se realizó en el período del mes de enero y febrero del 2020, en la Facultad de Odontología de la Universidad de Guayaquil, en una muestra de 74 sujetos, de los cuales 22 fueron hombres y 54 mujeres. Los sujetos seleccionados debían tener periodonto sano y sin tratamiento de ortodoncia. La importancia de la presente investigación está en saber reconocer el biotipo periodontal para poder realizar un buen diagnóstico y en lo posterior un tratamiento de calidad. Los principales resultados que arrojó la investigación fueron: de acuerdo al diagnóstico visual mediante la sonda, existe una prevalencia de biotipo periodontal fino con el 64,86%; 32,43% que posee un biotipo dental grueso y en menor proporción, con un 2,70% un biotipo mixto
The present research work was based on the periodontics specialty, the study seeks as main objective to determine the prevalence of periodontal biotype in the students of the sixth semester of the Pilot School of Dentistry of the University of Guayaquil, for the present study the use of the most practical technique that is transparency by means of highly reproducible periodontal probe based on the clinical observation of the periodontium. The research was carried out in the period of January and February 2020, in the Faculty of Dentistry of the University of Guayaquil, in a sample of 74 subjects, of which 22 were men and 54 women. The selected subjects had to have healthy periodontium and no orthodontic treatment. The importance of this research is to know how to recognize the periodontal biotype in order to make a good diagnosis and subsequently a quality treatment. The main results of the investigation were: according to the visual diagnosis using the probe, there is a prevalence of fine periodontal biotype with 64.86%; 32.43% who have a thick dental biotype and in a smaller proportion, with 2.70% a mixed biotype
