cavidad bucal: labios, lengua, dientes, encía, paladar, mucosa oral, piso
Swallowing is part of the stomatognathic system. This system is an organic-functional unit consisting of all structures of the oral cavity: and lips, tongue, teeth, gums, palate, oral mucosa, floor of the mouth, salivary glands, tonsils oropharynx. Its functions include sucking, swallowing, chewing, speech articulation, breathing and facial expression. Although some times in correct swallowing occurs in isolation, it is often part of larger tables that are involved other oral functions. The most common are: mouth breathing; orthodontic and cosmetic problems; chewing problems; articulation difficulties some phonemes. These changes can affect school performance or emotional balance. One of the most frequent abnormalities are atypical swallowing dentofacial alterations produced by the action of the tongue, as the most characteristic feature of atypical swallowing is tongue thrusting, bringing the tongue between the dental arches in the act swallowing, resulting in the protrusion of both incisors and open bite, which then occupies the space tongue. Lack of closure is also occlusal off set by the contraction of the lip muscles. No one knows for sure if it is a habit or an adaptive position. "The objective of this research was to determine the tongue position during swallowing aseptic logical factor of malocclusion in children 10 to 14 years of school "José Moscoso Villacres during 2013-2014 in which methods and research used: logical historical, inductive and deductive synthesis analysis, which allowed us to same conclusions and recommendations.
