Resumen
En el siguiente trabajo de investigación se estudian piezas dentarias que
poseen curvaturas radiculares considerables observadas en su anatomía
favoreciendo al fracaso del tratamiento endodóntico.
Durante muchos años se pensó que si no se podía sellar bien el ápice de
un diente se debía proceder a la obturación retrógrada del conducto
durante la intervención quirúrgica.Con respecto a la preparación
biomecánica, existe diversidad de opiniones y conceptos a lo largo del
desarrollo de la Endodoncia.
El manejo de conductos curvos en endodoncia requiere de tiempo,
paciencia y destreza por parte del operador, mucha colaboración por
parte del paciente. Una adecuada limpieza, desinfección, conformación y
obturación del conducto radicular, en la mayoría de los casos, evita la
aparición de lesiones de origen bacteriano a nivel apical o bien el
mantenimiento de estas lesiones en dientes que son retratados.
La técnica de obturación retrógrada consiste en poner un material sellador
en la cavidad apical preparada para tal efecto. La principal función de la
retroobturación es sellar el sistema de conductos radiculares después de
la apicectomía. Una vez colocado, lo condensaremos y adaptaremos a las
paredes de la caja de obturación para disminuir la posible filtración
marginal.
Un eficiente sellado apical es el factor más importante para obtener el
éxito en una cirugía periapical, al evitar la filtración de microorganismos e
irritantes residuales desde el interior del sistema de canales hacia los
tejidos del periápice; estos residuos son los que impiden la curación de los
tejidos periapicales.
