Hábitos bucales asociados con maloclusiones dentarias en pacientes pediátricos.

Resumen
Desde edades muy tempranas los hábitos bucales se hacen presentes debido a diferentes causas que a la larga pueden ocasionar deformaciones a nivel dentario u óseo que producen consecuencias en las actividades motoras faciales que realiza el paciente pediátrico. Por lo que se resalta la vital importancia del correcto diagnóstico e identificación de estos hábitos para poder tratar la maloclusión a tiempo y eliminar los fatores desencadenantes que ayudan a la evolución de las alteraciones oclusales y esqueléticas. Objetivo: Determinar cuáles son las maloclusiones que presentaría el paciente pediátrico por los malos hábitos orales. Métodos: Bibliográfico con un diseño documental, analítico y descriptivo. Técnicas: Recopilación de información, análisis libros y de artículos científicos. Conclusión: Los hábitos bucales son los formadores de desequilibrios esqueletales y dentales que pueden llegar a perdurar hasta la adolescencia si el hábito persiste y para su tratamiento se pueden emplean aparatos fijos o removibles en conjunto con ayuda psicológica. Recomendaciones: Es de vital importancia para el profesional reconocer la aparición de estos hábitos y el nivel de maloclusión que posee el niño para dar un tratamiento oportuno al caso y prevenir la aparición de problemas estomatognáticos mayores.
From very early ages, oral habits are present due to different causes that in the long run can cause deformations at the dental or bone level that can lead to consequences in the facial motor activities carried out by the pediatric patient. Therefore, the vital importance of the correct diagnosis and identification of these habits is highlighted in order to treat the malocclusion in time and eliminate the triggering factors that help the evolution of occlusal and skeletal alterations. Objective: To determine which are the malocclusions that the pediatric patient would present due to bad oral habits. Methods: Bibliographic with a documentary, analytical and descriptive design. Techniques: Collection of information, analysis of books and scientific articles. Conclusion: Oral habits are the creators of skeletal and dental imbalances that can last until adolescence if the habit persists and for its treatment fixed or removable appliances can be used in conjunction with psychological help. Recommendations: It is of vital importance for the professional to recognize the appearance of these habits and the level of malocclusion that the child has in order to give timely treatment to the case and prevent the appearance of major stomatognathic problems.
