Resumen
Se analiza la situación actual de las PYMES en el Ecuador, el rol que desempeñan en la economía nacional y los principales inconvenientes que afectan su crecimiento y desarrollo. Se define el concepto de matriz productiva y su relación con otros modelos económicos establecidos en la historia y la incidencia del sistema financiero nacional en la canalización de recursos a los distintos segmentos empresariales. Se analizan las limitantes financieras a la que se enfrentan las PYMES con el cambio de la matriz productiva. Se sustenta que su aporte, está limitado por su baja liquidez y necesidad de inversión, por lo que es ineludible acceder a un financiamiento para mejorar su rentabilidad y valor empresarial. Finalmente, mediante un caso real se demuestra el nivel de recursos que se necesitan para entrar a la industrialización de bienes primarios, así como la viabilidad financiera de las inversiones y el impacto que generarían estos recursos, en los niveles de rentabilidad, liquidez y valor patrimonial de la empresa.
