The human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), with an increasing number of cases in Ecuador and Worldwide, conforms an important part of the Infeccious Diseases Hospital “Dr. José Daniel Rodríguez Maridueña”, as it is known of this pathology, it is usually coexistent with a relevant incidence of opportunistic infections, many of which commonly require the use of systemic antibiotics This project aims to recognize the hepatotoxic and nephrotoxic effects of antifungal drugs, knowing that these are in many times coadministered with antiretrovirals and wide spectrum antibiotics; because of the number of present coinfections. This based on the statistical data base from the Hospital Conclusions and recommendations will be presented in the end, with the purpose of adequately recognizing the adverse effects of antimycotics present in the HIV positive patients.
