The influence of podcast as digital strategy to improve listening skills.

Abstract

In an increasingly globalized and competitive world, learning the English language has become a necessity and a challenge for the Ecuadorian educational system. This research aims to determine the influence of podcasts as a digital strategy in the development of listening skills at level A2. The types of research used in this research were bibliographic, field, exploratory, descriptive, explanatory, and purposeful research. To develop a didactic guide with listening activities based on podcasts to improve the listening skills of students in the ninth year of Unidad Educativa "Nuevo Continente". The focus of this research was mixed, since it is based on the qualitative methodology that allowed the collection of information on the variables and the quantitative methodology that allowed the analysis of the results of the survey carried out on the students. The data collection instruments used were observation, a survey to the students, as well as an interview with the English teacher to learn the perspective on the use of the podcast.

En un mundo cada vez más globalizado y competitivo el aprendizaje del idioma inglés se ha convertido en una necesidad y en un desafío para el sistema educativo ecuatoriano. Esta investigación tuvo como objetivo determinar la influencia de los podcasts como estrategia digital en el desarrollo de la habilidad auditiva en el nivel A2. Los tipos de investigación utilizados en esta investigación fueron, investigación bibliográfica, de campo, exploratoria, descriptiva, explicativa y propositiva. Para elaborar una guía didáctica con actividades de escucha basada en podcast para mejorar la habilidad auditiva de los estudiantes del noveno curso de la Unidad Educativa "Nuevo Continente". El enfoque de esta investigación fue mixto, ya que está basado en la metodología cualitativa que permitió recolectar información sobre las variables y la metodología cuantitativa permitió realizar el análisis de los resultados de la encuesta realizada a los estudiantes. Los instrumentos de recolección de datos utilizados fueron la observación, encuesta realizada a los estudiantes, además una entrevista al docente de inglés para conocer la perspectiva sobre uso del podcast.
