HTA. El sobrepeso (RR: 3.0730), el no realizar ejercicio (RR:
1.9682), los antecedentes familiares de HTA (RR: 0.8550, y P:
0,0710) y el estrés (RR: 1.7674) son factores de riesgo para
desarrollar HTA.
Hypertension (AHT) is a disease which in recent years has increased its prevalence, reaching ever higher in the ten leading causes of morbidity and mortality in many countries, thus becoming a public health problem. Objective: to determine risk factors for arterial hypertension in patients Mariano Star Hospital Cuenca. Methodology: a cross sectional study was conducted to determine the association between risk factors and Hypertension (HT) in patients treated at the Mariano Estrella Hospital of Cuenca. Results: the most common age of patients suffering from hypertension is 60.96 years (mean) with a standard deviation of 18.75 (95%), the sex most affected by Hypertension is the female, which is consistent with sex that more goes to the doctor. Race (all variants), snuff (RR 0.5974) and alcohol (RR 0.5385) are not considered risk factors for hypertension. Overweight (RR 3.0730), non-exercise (RR 1.9682), family history of hypertension (RR = 0.8550, and P: 0.0710) and stress (RR = 1.7674) are risk factors for developing hypertension. Conclusions: it was concluded that the risk factors described in the study by an average impact on the population
