Resumen
El Ecuador es un país con una gran riqueza y diversidad de recursos pesqueros y acuícolas, que le permiten tener una producción y exportación de productos pesqueros de alta calidad y demanda en el mercado internacional. El sector pesquero representa una fuente importante de ingresos, empleo y desarrollo para el país. Sin embargo, el sector pesquero enfrenta una serie de desafíos y limitaciones que pueden afectar su desempeño y competitividad. Es por esto que, el objetivo de investigación planteado para este trabajo es analizar la incidencia del sector pesquero en el PIB acuícola del Ecuador, período 2013-2022. Respecto a la premisa de investigación, se proyecta que la identificación y aprovechamiento de las ventajas comparativas en la producción y exportación de productos pesqueros, permitirá un crecimiento sostenido y significativo del PIB acuícola del Ecuador en los próximos 3 años. A modo de conclusión, el modelo de regresión log-log ha demostrado una relación significativa entre el PIB acuícola y pesquero y la producción y exportaciones, respaldado por coeficientes positivos y altamente significativos.

The fishing sector represents an important source of income, employment and development for the country. However, the fishing sector faces a series of challenges and limitations that may affect its performance and competitiveness. For this reason, the research objective set for this work is to analyze the incidence of the fishing sector in the aquaculture GDP of Ecuador, period 2013-2022. Regarding the research premise, it is projected that the identification and use of comparative advantages in the production and export of fishery products will allow a sustained and significant growth of Ecuador's aquaculture GDP in the next 3 years. By way of conclusion, the log-log regression model has shown a significant relationship between aquaculture and fisheries GDP and production and exports, supported by positive and highly significant coefficients
