The research was conducted at the experimental farm "Vainillo" located in the Duran-Tambo, Canton El Triunfo, Guayas way. Objectives: 1) Determine the best source of nitrogen fertilizer on two corn hybrids; and 2) an economic analysis of treatments. Factors studied: AGRI-104 hybrid and Gladiator, with different fertilizer sources. Conclusions: a) The highest average weight of cob and weight of 100 grains, was to AGRI-104. b) As a result of fertilizer sources, the variables length of the cob, cob diameter and grain yield had similar averages with the three sources of nitrogen. c) With the nitrogen sources urea and ammonium sulfate the highest average ear weight was obtained. d) With the urea source the best value weight of 100 grains were introduced. e) In the grain-cob ratio, treatments where urea and ammonium nitrate were applied had the highest values. f) In the interaction hybrid x fertilizer sources, as many rows as the treatment provided by the hybrid formed Gladiator unfertilized and fertilized with ammonium nitrate treatment. g) The interaction between the two maize hybrids and sources of nitrogen fertilizer, the highest average diameter of the ear was observed with AGRI-104 hybrid fertilized with urea and ammonium nitrate, which beat the witness. h) The control treatments were higher compared to the factorial combination in the diameter of the ear, average grain-cob ratio and grain yield. i) The best marginal return rate was for the treatment of AGRI-104 + urea.
