This investigation was realized at “Eloy Alfaro” High School in Duran in the year of 2015. The Investigation responds to the modality of a feasible research project, which is characterized by a diagnosis of the problem to provide an alternative solution. The present work starts by placing in a context, causes and consequences of the problem, the objectives to be achieved, and a theoretical framework that will reinforce the definitions of the two variables. The structure of the theoretical framework was very helpful for this project. The foundations were Epistemology, Linguistic, Pedagogical, Sociological, Psychological, Philosophical and Legal. The development of these foundations helped to relate the dependent and independent variables in this project. The population or universe of the investigation consist of Thirty-three (32) students and one teacher who were surveyed in order to solve the problem mentioned above .The beneficiaries of this project will be the students because reading as a teaching technique is a key tool for the development of skills in reading comprehension. With the diagnostic obtained from the research instruments which are survey, interview, and observation, was identified the need to create a didactic guide for teachers to strengthen the reading habit in student and develop reading skills. The problematic of reading has been always a problem in national education because students have lost interest in extensive reading
