Oral frenulum are mixed anatomical folds of fibrous connective tissue, muscle, or covered by the mucosa located in the middle and congenitally line, the same as according to their location are medial (upper labial frenulum, lower lip frenulum, lingual frenulum) , which constitute true cicatrizales flanges. Frenectomy is a process of surgical correction in those that cause orthodontic braces or periodontal disorders, prosthetic, or what is more common phonetic and deglutition alterations. This procedure is intended to restore the functionality of the area affected by surgical removal of the anatomical withdrawal, from the use of manual instrumentation or laser, for which different techniques are used, being the most common surgeries rhomboid type or diamond, VY plasty and Z plasty. The procedure comes to conclude with the synthesis of the area which was removed the bridle avoiding its infection by aseptic and antisepsis techniques. The aim of this paper is to demonstrate the actual incidence of labial frenulum as a direct cause of interdental diastema to the level of upper incisors.
