Resumen
A partir de las visitas realizadas a hogares y escuelas en la ciudad de
Guayaquil con el propósito de diagnosticar y realizar tratamientos dentales a
pacientes de edad escolar donde se desarrolló en las clínicas de
odontopediatría de la Facultad Piloto de Odontología. Se realizó una
investigación descriptiva que tuvo como objetivo identificar la prevalencia
de las anomalías dentofaciales en los escolares de 8 a 12 años con dentición
mixta de la escuela en el periodo 2014. Se realizó el diagnostico de las
anomalías, se tabularon los datos, y los resultados de una muestra de 179
escolares, se concluye que 30 escolares presenta más de una anomalías y
56 de ellos una sola anomalía; se identificó que un 57% en niños tenían
alguna anomalía y en las niñas un 43% tuvieron alguna anomalía, lo cual se
determina la importancia de los resultados, la misma que será útil para
análisis de casos de estudios y comunicación hacia los padres o familiares
para los posibles tratamientos dentales ortodónticos de los escolares con el
fin de mejorar su salud bucal y disminuir las anomalías de forma específica
y recomendada. Este proyecto cuenta con visitas, diagnósticos, informes e
información útil que determinará el número de escolares que presenta
anomalías y que deben tener su respectivo tratamiento dental. La
información que se obtenida de este proyecto aportará para los futuros
casos de estudios de investigación de anomalías presentadas en pacientes
de edad escolar, será un campo exploratorio que puedan desarrollar
profesionales en la especialidad de Ortodoncia.
From visits to homes and schools in the city of Guayaquil in order to diagnose and dental care to patients of school age where it was developed in pediatric dentistry clinics in the Pilot School of Dentistry. A descriptive study that aimed to identify the prevalence of dentofacial anomalies in school from 8 to 12 years with mixed dentition school in the period 2014 diagnosis of abnormalities was performed was performed, the data is tabulated, and results of a sample of 179 school children, concluded that 30 school has more than one anomalies and 56 of them one anomaly; identified that 57% of children had an abnormality in girls and 43% had some defect, which the significance of the results, it will be useful for analysis of case studies and communication with parents or relatives is determined for potential orthodontic dental treatment school in order to improve their oral health and reduce specific anomalies and recommended way. This project visits, diagnoses, reports and information that will determine the number of students who malfunctions and must have their respective dental treatment. The information gained from this project will contribute to future research case studies presented abnormalities in patients of school age will be an exploratory field to develop professionals in the specialty of orthodontics.
