Surgical correction of intracapsular hip fractures for years has attracted a number of controversies which have the handle there are few studies analyzing the different techniques for this purpose. Hemiarthroplasty is a technique used in 1 / 3 of cases, but the few existing reviews indicate that their use may be associated with better postoperative results. Hospital Regional del IESS "Dr Teodoro Maldonado Carbo, "is an institution that serves a large number of patients over 65 years, which involves a large number of patients with hip fractures, many of them intracapsular. One of the techniques used to solve the problem is this, however the report of the results obtained so far had not been made. In order to solve this problem a study was conducted observational, descriptive and exploratory, non-experimental, longitudinal retrospective that included 77 cases of hemiarthroplasty of the hip treated in the period 2005-2009. For the statistical analysis of frequency distributions, percentages, and half recital. The results showed that the indication in 100% was the fracture. 99% of intracapsular hip fractures were displaced. 64% occurred in women. In 92% of patients, surgery resulted in a stay of 15 days. 15% had residual pain secondary complications. El was the complication in 6% of cases. Concomitant pathology was present in 74%, the principal was hypertension (63%). Hard hemiarthroplasty in 82% of cases within 3 hours. 90% of patients were satisfied with the intervention. 6% had functional limitations. Leer fonéticamente
