The third molars or wisdom teeth are teeth corresponding to the permanent dentition and are located by behind the second molars. Embryologically formed from 36 months , beginning the period of calcification at age 9 completing their period of eruption between 18 and 27 years. An impacted tooth is one tooth that having reached the normal period of eruption , it has failed to do so for any reason. The third molars have a high incidence of inclusion and have been associated with the onset of pathology diverse as pericoronitis , caries on the distal aspect of the second molar or own third molar , myofascial pain , certain types of tumors and cysts odontogenic and primary or secondary dental crowding . The difficulty in the eruption of the third molars , especially the lower , due to its late formation and evolution phylogenetic has suffered jaw and has resulted in the lack of space available for molars may erupt normally . The purpose of the present work is to describe graduation which they are including the characteristics of the upper molars , as they have varied in time, generations and contexts.
