The present research is to provide students and Professional incorrect lateral sealing of the root canal is a causes in endodontic failure, even having made a correct result coronal seal infectious processes . A review is made concepts of success and failure in endodontics . It describes the main causes of failure of root canal treatment : Periodontal , prosthetic or restorative and endodontic . It presents the main retreatment indications raising the need for it , not only in those cases where there are unmistakable signs of failure , but also those being asymptomatic teeth with a root canal doubtful , will need a new prosthetic or restorative treatment . the criterion most commonly used to determine an endodontic failure is the presence or persistent periapical radiolucent shadow level , clinical recovery and inseparable radiographic criteria for analysis of endodontic failure. Other factors that we take into consideration during this recovery the presence of defects would shutter coronal leakage and the presence of symptoms ( pain or fistula ) . The reason that this is an endodontist criterion is due to evidence published in the literature that states that the bacteria in the root canal is the cause for the formation of periapical inflammation so periapical surgery would not treat choice since not remove the cause and not clean inside the duct. this is more likely that this purpose is achieved with non-surgical treatment as conservative retreatment. Presented as appropriate methods of literature searches and Support treatments . Hoping to get as results of treatment success endodontic.
