Perfil epiemiológico de los pacientes hospitalizados por caídas de 60 a 80 años de edad, estudio a realizar en el Hospital de Especialidades Dr. Abel Gilbert Pontón en el período desde enero del 2016 a febrero del 2017

Resumen
Objetivo: Determinar el perfil epidemiológico de los pacientes hospitalizados por caídas de
60 a 80 años de edad mediante un estudio observacional indirecto retrospectivo para poder
obtener datos de los factores que causan las caídas.
Metodología: Descriptiva, cuantitativo.
Diseño de la investigación: No experimental, retrospectivo.
Resultado: El estudio realizado en el Hospital de Especialidades Dr. Abel Gilbert Pontón en
60 pacientes de 60 a 80 años de edad hospitalizados por caídas se obtiene como resultado por
género masculino de 39 pacientes con un porcentaje de 65% y en el género femenino de 21
pacientes con un porcentaje de 35%, por lo tanto tenemos un predominio en pacientes del
género masculino.
El estudio realizado en el Hospital de Especialidades Dr. Abel Gilbert Pontón en 60 pacientes
de 60 a 80 años de edad hospitalizados por caídas se obtiene el resultado por edades de 60 a
65 años una población de 14 pacientes con un porcentaje de 23.3%, de 66 a 70 años una
cantidad de 14 pacientes con un porcentaje de 23.3%, de 71 a 75 años una población de 20
pacientes con un porcentaje de 33.3%, de 76 a 80 años una cantidad de 12 pacientes con un
porcentaje de 20%, resultando como mayor prevalencia de la caída en los pacientes de 71 a
75 años de edad.
El estudio realizado en el Hospital de Especialidades Dr. Abel Gilbert Pontón en 60 pacientes
de 60 a 80 años de edad hospitalizados por caídas se obtiene como resultado de 55 pacientes
con un porcentaje de 91.7% presentan antecedentes patológicos personales.
El estudio realizado en el Hospital de Especialidades Dr. Abel Gilbert Pontón en 60 pacientes
de 60 a 80 años de edad hospitalizados por caídas hay un resultado de 45 pacientes con el
porcentaje de 75% que consumen fármacos como: Antihipertensivos, hipoglucemiantes, anti
parkinsoniano, diuréticos, y 15 pacientes con un porcentaje de 25% que no toman
medicamentos.
El estudio realizado en el Hospital de Especialidades Dr. Abel Gilbert Pontón en 60 pacientes
de 60 a 80 años de edad hospitalizados por caídas se obtiene un resultado de los que
consumen alcohol de 51 pacientes con un porcentaje de 85% que no lo hacen, y 9 pacientes
con el porcentaje de 15% que si lo hacen.
El estudio realizado en el Hospital de Especialidades Dr. Abel Gilbert Pontón en 60 pacientes
de 60 a 80 años de edad hospitalizados que han sufrido caídas dentro del domicilio hay 35
pacientes con el porcentaje de 58.3%, 2 paciente con porcentaje de 3.3% fuera del domicilio,
15 pacientes con el porcentaje de 25% en la calle, 3 pacientes con un porcentaje de 5%
dentro de un lugar público, y 5 pacientes con el porcentaje de 8.3% fuera de un lugar público.
El estudio realizado en el Hospital de Especialidades Dr. Abel Gilbert Pontón en 60 pacientes
de 60 a 80 años de edad hospitalizados tenemos como resultado que el tipo de caída de
manera de tropiezo hay 29 pacientes con el porcentaje de 48.3% , por resbalón 10 personas
con el porcentaje de 16.7%, por mareo 3 personas con un porcentaje de 5%, aparentemente
accidental 5 pacientes con un porcentaje del 8.3 %, provocado por terceros 4 personas con un
porcentaje de 6.7%, y otros con un total de 9 personas con un 15 %.

El estudio realizado en el Hospital de Especialidades Dr. Abel Gilbert Pontón en 60 pacientes
de 60 a 80 años de edad hospitalizados se obtiene un resultado del intervalo del día que han
sufrido la caída de 10 pacientes con un porcentaje de 16.7% en la mañana, 42 pacientes con
el porcentaje de 70% por la tarde, y 8 pacientes con el porcentaje de 13.3% en la noche.
El estudio realizado en el Hospital de Especialidades Dr. Abel Gilbert Pontón en 60 pacientes
de 60 a 80 años de edad hospitalizados tenemos como resultado en el tipo de calzado
utilizado como el descalzo hay 4 pacientes con un porcentaje de 6.7%, con zapatillas 30
pacientes con el porcentaje de 50%, con zapatos 20 pacientes con un porcentaje de 33.3%, y
otro tipo de calzado 6 pacientes con el porcentaje de 10%.
El estudio realizado en el Hospital de Especialidades Dr. Abel Gilbert Pontón en 60 pacientes
de 60 a 80 años de edad hospitalizados tenemos que las condiciones del suelo como el liso
hay 15 pacientes con el porcentaje de 25%, resbaladizo 3 pacientes con un porcentaje de 5%,
el irregular hay 10 pacientes con el porcentaje de 16.7%, pendiente 2 pacientes con un
porcentaje de 3.3%, escaleras 29 pacientes con el porcentaje de 48.3%, y ninguna de las
anteriores 1 paciente con un porcentaje de 1.7%.
El estudio realizado en el Hospital de Especialidades Dr. Abel Gilbert Pontón en 60 pacientes
de 60 a 80 años de edad hospitalizados como resultado de la actividad al momento de la
caída como caminar hay 21 pacientes con el porcentaje de 35%, estar de pie 5 pacientes con
el porcentaje de 8.3%, al levantarse hay 2 pacientes con un porcentaje de 3.3%, al usar
escaleras 31 pacientes con un porcentaje de 51.7%, al estar sentados no hubo pacientes, en la
cama 1 paciente con el porcentaje 1.7%.
El estudio realizado en el Hospital de Especialidades Dr. Abel Gilbert Pontón en 60 pacientes
de 60 a 80 años de edad hospitalizados el resultado del miedo a volver a caerse es de 57
pacientes con el porcentaje de 95% que si lo tienen, y 3 personas con un porcentaje de 5%
que no tienen miedo.
El estudio realizado en el Hospital de Especialidades Dr. Abel Gilbert Pontón en 60 pacientes
de 60 a 80 años de edad hospitalizados se obtuvo como resultado con la escala de Downton
que describe el riesgo de caída que el valor <3 hubo 3 pacientes con un porcentaje de 5%, y
>3 hay 57 pacientes con el porcentaje de 95%.
