The period of mixed dentition periods represents one of the most complex at the time of tooth replacement , in which the child has a number of features that occur gradually according the chronology of tooth eruption . This set of signs and symptoms characteristic of the mixed dentition called " Stage Ugly Duckling " very unsightly stage concerned about the child and parents , which will be influenced by a number of factors that determine the normal and abnormal development of bone and tooth structures and the introduction of a problem malocclusion future. It is very common manifestations that the patient in this stage are often diagnosed as malocclusion and are treated as such , cause unnecessary changes in the development and maxillary and dentoalveolar growth. This research aims to determine the signs and clinical characteristics are presented in Step Duckling Feo, the causal factor for submission of this stage in a patient and observe what kind of treatment will be most suitable to overcome this stage, considering the following research question : How to use stimulators help growth beyond the stage of the ugly duckling ? For the present research methods were used qualitative, quantitative , experimental , bibliographic , descriptive resulting in the determination of the advantages of using growth stimulators in Stage Ugly Duckling .
