The objective of this study is to determine the benefits of bilateral expansion plates and serial extraction in patients with moderate dental crowding, covering the etiology and causes of this problem, as well as the benefits offered by both treatments, since crowding is one of the most frequent alterations in the whole population, triggering several problems not only in the correct functioning of the oral cavity but also in the aesthetics of the patient. This draft titration corresponds to the type of quali-quantitative research, no experimental and documentary, in which several surveys were conducted to obtain the views and experiences of professional specialists in the field of Orthodontics at Universidad Estatal de Guayaquil - Facultad Piloto de Odontología , where it was reflected that serial extractions have high efficacy in the treatment of moderate dental crowding unlike the bilateral expansion plates, due to the dependence of collaboration on the part of the patient who has this treatment, from the point of view of the Orthodontists. It was concluded that the use of bilateral expansion plates, as well as the application of the serial extraction technique, provide very favorable results as a coadjuvant in the treatment of moderate dental crowding, since with both procedures dental crowding will be partially reduced reducing the seriousness of the problem in the subsequent treatment with fixed appliances
