Procalcitonin is a protein derived from the Calcitonin and is considered a test of high diagnostic value of Neonatal Bacterial Infection. This is a challenge for all clinician, therefore, the aim of this study is to demonstrate the importance of using the Biomarker procalcitonin (PCT) as early diagnosis to determine the Bacterial infections in the area of Unit Neonatal Intensive Care Specialist Hospital Dr. Abel Gilbert Ponton during the period January to September 2016. The method used was descriptive, correlational, not experimental quantitative cross., Data were obtained from laboratory data and medical records. The results were that the Procalcitonin has high sensitivity (95%9 and specificity (35%) for the diagnosis of Neonatal Bacterial Infection, much higher than the values of Leukocytes, C-Reactive Protein and crops
