Resumen
La atención odontológica en mujeres embarazadas es imprescindible, pero requiere de conocimientos sobre el manejo y abordaje de las mismas, puesto que existen varios factores que pueden acelerar la progresión de enfermedades iniciales o de las ya establecidas. El uso y abuso en la administración de fármacos durante este periodo, puede provocar efectos adversos en la futura madre, e incluso efectos teratógenos en el feto, por lo que es importante conocer todos los medicamentos que están recomendados administrarlos durante la gestación. El objetivo fue establecer el nivel de conocimiento sobre el manejo farmacológico de mujeres embarazadas, en docentes odontólogos de la Facultad Piloto de Odontología. Materiales y métodos: estudio realizado en la Facultad Piloto de Odontología de la Universidad de Guayaquil en el periodo lectivo 2018-2019 CII. Se evaluaron 98 docentes odontólogos de la facultad que ejercen la profesión; la información conseguida se la obtuvo mediante una encuesta de conocimientos generales de prescripción farmacológica y patologías más frecuentes en embarazadas, y el resultado se hizo con la siguiente escala de evaluación: 1. Nivel Bajo = 0-4;
2. Regular = 5-7; 3. Nivel Alto = 8-10.
Dental care in pregnant women is essential, but requires knowledge about handling and treatment of them, since there are several factors that can accelerate the progression of initial diseases or those already established. The use and abuse in the administration of drugs during this period, can cause adverse effects in the future mother, and even teratogenic effects in the fetus, so it is important to know all the medications that are recommended to be administered during pregnancy. The goal was to establish the level of knowledge about the pharmacological management of pregnant women, in dental professors of the Pilot Faculty of Dentistry. Materials and methods: Study is carried out in the Pilot School of Dentistry of the University of Guayaquil during the academic year 2018-2019 CII. A total of 98 dentist professors from the department, that practice the profession, were evaluated; the information was obtained through a survey of general knowledge of pharmacological prescription and more frequent pathologies in pregnant women. The result was acquired with the following evaluation scale: 1. Low Level = 0-4; 2. Regular = 5-7; 3. High level = 8-10. Results: With the application of the survey it was possible to verify that 59.2% of the dentist professors in the department has a regular level of prescription generalities, 35.7% have a low level and 5.1% have a high level. Conclusion: The level of knowledge of the dental professors of the Pilot Faculty of Dentistry, on the pharmacological management in pregnant women, was regular and deficient.
